The tour was over after breakfast. Roy and Liz were available to help with any questions, like what way do to I turn when I leave the hotel to get to the Marriott?
I found England is a country where the past is always present. I remembered my past while exploring the country and was surprised by the emotions it evoked.
I was told I am rubbish with names, but I remember faces. It is the faces of the people I met, however briefly, that I recall now. The 3 generations of Irish women I shared a shelter with during a sudden down pour. The mother told me the story of the portrait called Mike’s Brother, in the National Portrait Gallery. Off I went to see it. I remember the young boy who played peek-a-boo with me on the train. I didn't understand what language he and his family were speaking (Welsh?), but we both understood peek-a-boo.
But most of all I remember my fellow tour member including Roy, Liz and James. It's your faces that will always remind me of England and my first Rick Steves' Tour.
Our Coach Bus. Tour member suggested taking a photo of the license if one ever needed to find it in a group of Coaches. Never happened on this trip but it is a good suggestion.
