Tour Days 6 & 7: Stokesay Castle, North Wales, Sheep
Day 6, Friday After a delightful breakfast, we said goodbye to the Cotswolds. Before heading for North Wales, we stopped at Stokesay Castle. Hello Robin Hood. The Stokesay Church will always hold special meaning to me. Tip: Bring pounds. At the back of both St. Michael Stanton and Stokesay church there are notecards of local scenes for purchase that make a unique memento. Next a scenic coach ride to Conwy, Wales, where we witnessed James skill in driving though the city gate opening! Roy and Liz took us on a walking orientation tour of Conway. The evening was our own to explore.

Day 7, Saturday Although the weather was windy and cold, the warm of the Gareth Wyn Jones family chased the cold away. Gareth explained the challenges of sheep farming, importance of a good dog for herding and gave a sheep shearing lesson. Bring Pounds. Their daughter, Mari Non, makes and sells wool hearts. The money goes toward her educational fund. The label on each heart is in Welsh first, then English. I wish I had bought more as they would make great gifts for family back home.
That day we also toured Caernarfon Castle, Llechwedo slate mine and still had free time in Conway. Our group dinner was at the Castle Hotel.
